La Raza’s Live music, DJ and events line up, is packed full amazing acts this month. With something for everybody. Live music every Thursday and DJ’s every weekend, all your party needs will be met.

FUNK JAM – LIVE BAND EVENT

Come on down for your monthly dose of funk at Cambridge’s only Funk Jam!
Run by The Will Sketches Trio and always free entry, great players, a friendly vibe and plenty of dancing 🙂
Doors open 8:30pm. House band will kick things off then open up to jammers.
Happy hour all night, and students get 15% off food and drink all night with a valid student card.

DANNY AND THE DEVIANTS – LIVE MUSIC EVENT

Danny and The Deviants are a favourite in the May Ball scene. With a mixture of folk and rock, their high energy tunes will compel you to start dancing and singing along.
Expect high energy, stupendous guitar solos, banging vocals and a little bit of deviance.
SWAGGER
Friday 12th September -22:00 – FREE ENTRY
Swagger have years of experience and heaps of talent! They have been our house band at La Raza for the past 10 years, and every month always fill the dance floor!
They play the classics with a twist, so expect a mix of 60s groove, 70s funk, 80s cheese and 90s favourites, with plenty of surprises thrown in! They take their music very seriously, but not necessarily themselves…they are five grown men who do not shy away from the kind of tunes that would terrify your average suited-up ensemble!
CRUMP
Saturday 13th September -22:30 – FREE ENTRY
Heavily influenced by legendary “anything goes” parties such as The Do Over, The Rub and The Electric Chair, Crump specialises in open format creativity, utilising dancefloor dynamite from the 1950’s to the present day.
Expect a kaleidoscopic blend of Soul, Funk, Disco, Pop / Rock classics, R&B, Reggae, US Garage, Moombahton and brass band bangers
KISS THE DUCK – LIVE MUSC EVENT

Kiss the duck are masters of upbeat covers. Boogie the night away, to a soundtrack of 80’s hits, and journey all the way through to the noughties, every song slaps, no misses. This band is guaranteed to get you dancing!
PETE DE VIT

After about 10 years, Pete Moore or “Lejazz” or “Pete De Vit” is still playing records at La Raza. Raised on a diet of Jungle from the age of 13 onto Jazz, Funk, Soul, Dancehall, Techno, House and anything else with an off centre vibe.
He’ll cover as many styles as possible in one evening, with the dance-floor always the number one priority. Expect something different to the rest of the music in the city.

The will.sketches trio are a jazz funk outfit headed by live & studio guitarist, will.sketches. Playing funky, jazzy takes on popular songs by artists like Tom Misch, George Benson, John Mayer, Herbie Hancioc, Bill Withers and Amy Winehouse, to name a few.
Members of the band have played prestigious stages at festivals such as Glastonbury and latitude, and iconic venues from Ronnie Scott’s to 606 Bar.
ECLECTIC BALLROOM

Eclectic Ballroom have supported acts such as: Craig Charles, Massive Attack and Jazzy Jeff,
Taking their big, seamless fusion of disco, funk, soul, house and Hip Hop. to the DJ Tents of Glastonbury for over 10 years
